We got the ceiling all scraped, then textured, then we moved on to painting it. What a job! But when we eventually finished, I was beyond happy to have all of that nasty popcorn ceiling gone!
Build A Bear Date with Benson!! He chose a Pikachu. My favorite memory from this date was that when they asked him what he wanted to name his new Pikachu, he very seriously said, "Alice". I said, "Oh! Is Pikachu a girl?" Incredulously, he said, "No!" I said, oh well, Alice is typically a girl name. So then he solemnly said he wanted to name it "John". :)
Lindy turned 8 this year!! Big year! No big friend party this year because the main event (baptism) would be a big enough shin dig down in St. George. So she opened a few presents (little dolls made by Gwen), we took the fogle girls to The Village Mall to watch the fountain and eat cinnamon rolls and of course, stop by Lush to snag some bath bombs (lindy's favorite). Since Lindy and Gwen share a birthday month, they shared a birthday cake this year. They designed and made it themslves!
I went on a little girl's weekend trip with some of my good friends from high school! For some reason, this is the only picture I can find! We stayed in Park City and the main events were eating and talking. :) Best girls weekend activities!
Gwen turned 11! Can't stop these kids from growing up. She had a friend party this year. She decided on a baking competition style party. All the girls got aprons upon arrival. I had planed to show them a little cake decorating demonstration to help get them started, but they preferred just going for it. :) I made all the cakes in advance, and bought frosting from the grocery store to make it a bit easier. They came up with the funnest designs! Miles and his friend helped judge and we gave out awards to all the girls. Super fun, tiring night.
Activity Days held a talent show. Good thing Gwen and Lindy make up dances all the time and had a repertoire to choose from. They each did a solo, and then one together. I loved that they were brave enough to do so, and grateful for leaders who put it on!
Davy's turn for his Build a Bear Date! He wanted a spiderman dinosaur, and guess what, they had one. :)
Gwen taught Benson how to ride without training wheels!! Having older kids is the best!
St. Patrick's Day! Green smoothies and lucky charms for breakfast, rainbow smoothies and fruit rainbow for lunch, Irish soda bread and cabbage stew for dinner. Having little holidays and things to celebrate really helps you get through the months that tend to be cold and a little dreary.
Misc Homeschool and Homestead, Including: *Lindy finishing all of the BOB books (which means me taking her out for a treat). * Lindy finishing her kid's scriptures, and all on her own, she would write little summaries and draw pictures of what she read that day. *Science Dioramas with the Fogles. *Benson finishing some Pre K books. *Homeschool PE hanging out at the rec center. *We welcomed a Ewe and her boy, and 2 nigerian dwarf goats to the farm, and Miles welcomed 4 bummer calves from a dairy to raise for meat to earn money.
