A lovely Sunday evening exploring a park by the Boise River. The kids promised to not get muddy or wet, but some promises are meant to be broken. More than one kid ended up fully clothed in the river before we left. Such a beautiful autumn day!
Miles finished his football season! It was such a good growing experience for him. Miles is naturally a very kind soul; we knew football would help him develop some grit and mental toughness that comes when you're pummeling people and being pummeled. :) He also developed a lot physically- he got stronger and built a lot of endurance. We were proud of his efforts.
Another beautiful fall day! The kids and I went on an adventure to Kathy Albertson park to enjoy the colors.
Mom and Davy date to the library and to get ice cream! When the olders were little, we went to the library at least once a week. And we always took advantage of story times and other cool programs they put on. It's weird how those things fade with your younger kids. Your time is dictated more by the olders and then the youngers miss out on story times. Well for our date, I figured I'd take Davy to a cool story time/dancing thing the library was putting on. Davy clearly felt too mature for such an outing and didn't really appreciate the program. :) But he liked hanging with mom and getting ice cream. :)
Mom and Dad date, walking around the duck pond!
Ah yes, remember when we had less than an hour before a photographer was coming to our house to take our family pictures, and I came out to find the boys like this? Good times. Curiosity got the better of them, and we had to shave their heads right before pics.
Quick trip down to Bluffdale to participate in the yearly applesauce making! So grateful to Mom and Dad for starting such a fun and delicious tradition!
HALLOWEEN 2022! The kids decided to be classic Halloween things this year. Davy was a monster, Benson was a vampire, Lindy was a witch, Gwen was a black cat, and Miles was a ghost. :) We had fun at an epic ward trunk or treat, carving pumpkins, eating sloppy joes, and trading candy. All the fun things.
Random homeschool moments throughout the month, including a co-op field trip to the duck pond, complete with chick-fil-a picnic.
October scenes from the homestead, including special mention of Lindy and Gwen taking it upon themselves to paint my milk stanchion to motivate me to start milking the goats again. Also pictured, Richie and I helping our friends butcher a ridiculous amount of chickens in one day.
