Not creative enough to think of a good title

This weekend we celebrated Richie's birthday and the 4th of July with his family. It was such a good time. On Thursday they got here in the evening and Richie chose this chicken/crab dutch oven dinner for his mom to make. Delicious. And I owed him a pie, so I made him a blackberry pie. You probably can't see it in this picture, but it looks amazing if I do say so myself. Then we opened presents and he got some much needed necessities...I guess that's why they're called necessities...such as white shirts, jeans, and tennis shoes. So I got to give him the very coveted bike trailer/jogging stroller!! The boys put it together (Thank you very much) and Miles really seems to like it. We've already taken a couple of excursions on it!


That night we headed out to Eagle Park and Campground where we had probably the best campsite and no one else was there miraculously enough. Richie's family stayed in one tent and we Richie, Miles and I stayed in our little two man tent. Miles actually did really well and LOVED being outside all the time. We played horseshoes, went on a walk and then packed our lunches to go to Mesa Falls: a favorite of ours. We stopped to feed the fish, always classic, parked to see the lower falls, and then "hiked" in to see the upper falls. By that time, Miles' schedule was a mess and we were afraid he was sunburned and thirsty so we went home. (The advantage of camping 10 minutes away from home) We thought we'd just rest and then go back out to camp, but it started raining and we didn't want to chance it, so the Garners camped in our front room on Friday! What good sports.



On Saturday morning the boys went to Idaho Falls to play frisbee golf and me and mom Garner and Miles stayed home to scrapbook all of Richie's pictures (Something that he loathed growing up, so now I get to do it :) I really don't mind, I kind of like it actually) We then had a yummy 4th of July meal with spare ribs, corn on the cob, pasta salad, watermelon, and a flag cake! :) They had to head home, so afterwards, Richie and I used our bike trailer and went to visit the Christensens, came home and got in our pj's, watched the fireworks over at American (while listening to "Coming to America" by Neil Diamond) and then went to the drive in movies and saw/slept through Ice Age 3. To top the fabulous weekend off, on Sunday the Christensen's invited us over for Dinner and to roast mallows in their backyard!
