Graduation Slash

Graduation slash Easter slash Miles' blessing.
Yes this past weekend was a big one. We had just barely moved into our new apartment and I was trying to get used to this whole managing thing. (I'll post pictures of our apartment later. Suffice it to say, it's much larger than our last apartment, hallelujah!) Something that helped me get used to managing was the fact that this week was CRAZY busy for storage units and uhauls because school got out this week. Talk about baptism by fire! But, in the long run, it was the best way for me to learn. Anyway, Richie's family got here on Thursday evening and after a rushed dinner, we went to Richie's convocation. These ceremonial things are SO NOT richie's cup of tea, but he tried to pretend to like it anyway. I'm so proud of Richie for making it!!! He's even already talking about taking some night classes that will help him at American. Miles got to meet his great grandmas Linda. I can't believe we didn't get pictures of that!!
Friday morning was the commencement ceremony that Richie's parents and Richie went to. Elder Anderson was the speaker! My parents got there later that night and we celebrated my dad's birthday and he met Miles for the first time.
On Saturday, Chris and A and Russ and Nat got there and we dyed eggs, had an Easter Egg hunt, did crafts, and Richie of course had wrestle time with the Lamb kids. All of the youngers kids kept asking "Where's Uncle Richie?" So cute. That night we had a yummy Easter meal. We could actually all fit in our apartment! That would not have been possible in our old apartment. So that was cool.
Sunday Richie's mom made a very special passover meal and taught us about all the symbolism within the meal. That made Easter Sunday really special for me. I was so wrapped up in Miles' blessing, I had a hard time focusing on our Savior. But during the sacrament, I received a very personal testimony of the atonement again, this time through the eyes of a mother. Miles' blessing couldn't have gone better. No blow-out diaper, no spit-up, no crying. Richie gave a very short, but very sweet blessing and I felt like it was heaven on earth. Being the youngest, I've attended my fair share of blessings for nieces and nephews, and I have looked forward for quite some time now, the day that it would be my child. It's one of those times you wish you could push pause and just soak it in for a while.
I am SO grateful for my family that sacrificed work, driving long distances with children and pregnant discomforts, and money all to support our family. It made us feel VERY special. I couldn't have made it through this weekend without everyone looking after Miles and making food while I was busy. We missed those of you who couldn't make it. Richie and I are convinced we have the best families in the world.

Miles is so photogenic, and I love the picture of Richie holding him at his graduation. It seems like a picture that you will treasure always because it marks 2 milestones in your young, newlywed lives.
