Making Resurrection cookies
It must either be conference weekend, or Christmas if we're eating German pancakes and bacon for breakfast! We really look forward to this tradition. :)
Of course we made our conference necklaces
Dying eggs in between sessions. Tried to use purple cabbage to dye some eggs, which was a fun experiment.
Hunting for eggs in the backyard. Benson got such a kick out of it. We decided though that we need to start making it harder for the older kids! It was way too easy for them this year. Another fun experiment was that I forgot to hard boil the eggs, so we died them raw. :) I had to tell the kids multiple times to be very, very careful with them!!
Sunday morning, I made the kids pose for Easter morning pictures. They know the drill, so they did it pretty willingly. Benson stood still for about 2 seconds though, and then he was dunzo.
That evening we went over to Grandma and Grandpa's house for our traditional Passover type meal. We eat on the floor and eat more mediterranean foods, that help us remember Jesus. It is such a yummy meal, I look forward to it ever year! Then the kids got to go on their Easter Walk with Grandpa and hunt for symbols of Christ around their yard. We've done for a few years now, so Miles and Gwen are starting to remember things like this, and expect them and look forward to them.
It was a truly beautiful weekend. The weather was gorgeous, we got to sustain a new prophet and 2 new apostles, we were with our family and Easter and Conference fell on the same day. Despite the number of kid fights we had to break up while we were trying to be quiet and listen to conference, despite the extra effort it takes to make holidays/events like this special...it all added up to a wonderful weekend.
