Second Half of June 2021

*Author's Note- These posts are all being done months down the road from when they actually happened. Our computer is old and isn't uploading pictures as it should. It became really easy to put blogging off for a while till we got a new computer. Well, it will probably still be a while till we get a new computer, and I don't want to totally lose the habit of documenting the every day around here. So the next few posts will probably be fairly abbreviated. Darn memory!

Summer break is in full swing! Lots of days working on our bingo charts and collecting the rewards, playing with friends and learning new skills.

Richie and I went on a date to the American VIP dinner in preparation for Demo Day. Pretty much the biggest day of the year for American. I brought the kids to Demo Day to snag a free lunch, get some swag, and see some concrete demonstrations.

Miles had his first trip to the temple! For years, I have been planning on taking each of our kids to the temple for the first time. I wanted to make it really special and memorable for them. Covid temple restrictions made it tricky. You had to have an appointment and you had to come as a group. Luckily, Richie and I got to tag-along in the youth group Miles was scheduled with. It was so great. I hadn't done baptisms for....a really long time. Miles was nervous, excited, humble and reverent.  We took him out to dinner at Costa Vida afterward, and asked him what he thought. He said it was one of the best days of his life.

The kids wanted to do Father's Day Pies again. I was hesitant. We did it two years ago and made 42 pies in 24 hours. It was insane and awesome.  But this time, I wouldn't have my Mother-in-law watching the 2 Youngers for me. I figured we could do it since we probably wouldn't get as many orders this time around. I was right, and we made I think, 22 pies. Plenty to keep us busy, but not crazy. The kids really learn a lot from the process. I learned that we need to charge more for pies if we do it again. We barely broke even!

Gwen was invited on an outing with a friend to go kayaking at Lake Lowell. Lucky!

*She also had a piano recital here that I got zero pictures of. 2 videos, no pictures.

Happy Father's Day Richie!

Richie and I went out on a date and when we came back, the girls decided to extend our date. They set up snacks and a candle etc in the school room and served us. :)  cuties.

Miles came up with this flyer all on his own and I was super impressed. He wants to break into the babysitting scene. He's be absolutely fantastic at it. No calls so far. Most parents look for the girls that are just a bit older. They are missing out though. Miles would rock it!

Park/splash pad/library Days!

Davy taking a nap in his favorite dress up- Super Bug!

Scenes from the homestead, including: Finally getting some decent milk from the goats, and our cat Stormy finally bringing her kittens to our property! It was an exciting day.
