We took it easy with school that day. We built "The Claw" arcade game from our month's Kiwi crate and delivered birthday invitations. It was fun to watch Miles run the invites to the door, and then chat with each of the Mom's for a few minutes. :)
I tried to convince Miles to have a small friend celebration this year, maybe take a few friends to the movies etc. But he could not be swayed. He wanted an art party and wanted to invite every person he's ever met. It took a lot of reigning in, but I somehow got the guest list down to 11. It was a lot less messy than you would think. I think all the kids had fun, and Miles was royally spoiled with presents. But next time I throw a party, I won't plan any activities. I'll just let them run around. The biggest hits are always the things I wasn't planning on! Playing basketball, chasing bunnies, etc. Lesson learned.
On Sunday the festivities continued when we celebrated Miles and Jeffrey at Sunday dinner. I love that Miles gets to share his birthday with Jeffrey and Ben. He got all his gear for Bears, a movie, lego Minecraft stuff, and a new suit from Grandma and Grandpa. He's going to be looking very dapper next Sunday!

He was genuinely thrilled with each card, each phone call, each present. He kept saying that this was the best birthday ever, and thanking us over and over. Yay for happy kids!
